Maurizio Sarri’s men triumphed the last time these two teams met, with Alvaro Morata netting twice and Pedro grabbing the third in a 3-1 win. Andros Townsend scored Palace’s goal at Stamford Bridge, briefly pulling the match level at 1-1 before Morata restored Chelsea’s lead.Morata has not scored a league goal since grabbing his brace against Roy Hodgson’s side, and he fails to start for the fifth match in succession today; back from injury, the Spain international is named among the substitutes. Sarri has decided to reinstate an actual centre-forward to his team, Olivier Giroud, with Eden Hazard returning to the wing. Willian flanks Giroud on the other side, and Ross Barkley comes into midfield with Mateo Kovacic named on the bench.Goalkeeper Vicente Guaita continues to start for Palace, who also name star forward Townsend and Wilfried Zaha in attack.
