Gary Rowett told talkSPORT he does not know why he was sacked as Stoke City boss and admits it was not an easy job to take.After Play-Off semi-final defeat to Fulham in 2018, the Derby County boss signed a three-year deal with the Potters in May to succeed Paul Lambert following the clubs relegation to the Championship.3

He added: If you lose quite a number of that dressing room, then theres less resilience perhaps around now to see it through themselves.Thats a big thing I always say; sometimes as players on the pitch, you have to sort it out yourselves.You can give them a structure and you can give them a way of trying to win the game.But ultimately, they have to take responsibility for that and I think that that responsibility was probably more intrinsic 10-15 years ago than perhaps it is now.
