Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has vowed to give academy players every chance to stake their claim for a first-team spot at Manchester United.The caretaker boss gave 18-year-old Angel Gomes a run out in the 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day and says he will continue to blood youngsters during his spell in the hotseat.2

We have two or three top talents in the Under 18s that are knocking on the door now.“Weve had a couple of injuries and fatigue has been involved but then theyre ready to step up. Neil Ryan (U18 coach) and Ricky Sbragia (U23 coach), they keep me filled in.”2

When you lose a game you won’t see many smiles about.” United could be without three attacking players for the visit of Bournemouth on Sunday.Anthony Martial missed the 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town with illness while Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were also absent from the Boxing Day victory.They have all returned to training but this weekend may prove too soon for them to return.“We’ve not had a lot of training since (the Huddersfield game). We had yesterday off so today’s the first day back,” Solskjaer said.“Romelu, Anthony and Alexis they were light, light (training) yesterday so hopefully they can join part of the training today and let’s see after how they come through.”
